Title: Don’t be an Ingrate

Scripture: Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits – Psalms 103:1

The attitude of many of us in the west is what have you done for me lately. The attitude greatly irritates God. Studying the scriptures we come across of the story of the ten lepers who begged for Jesus to help them (Luke 17:11 -19). We often are ready to promise anything and everything when we desire something in the hands of someone else. we often run to God or people for help and beg them to intervene. We promised God that if He did this miracle in our lives you would dedicate your life to Him? I think many of us have done that. God gives us prosperity and it hinder us from serving Him. He gives you a husband or a wife and we don’t have time to love God with all of your heart, your strength and might.

[pullquote]Ungrateful people are always complaining about one thing you have not done for them, instead of the thousands of things you have done for them. – [/pullquote]Being Grateful as its benefits and being ungrateful as its consequences

  • Gratitude keeps the channel of God’s favour open.
  • Gratitude makes our minds open and bright.
  • Gratitude helps us conform into the image of Christ.
  • Gratitude makes us close to God.
  • Being able to thank God for everything is an expression of our faith and trust in love and care of our Heavenly Father.
  • Grateful heart is a victory over haughtiness and pride.

Givers need to set limits because takers rarely do

Thankfulness is the expressing of your gratitude, it is possible to be grateful and not express it. There is a need to be grateful, but more importantly there is a need to express just how grateful you are. I can be a gentleman and open the door for a lady, she may even be very grateful that I opened the door for her, but if she doesn’t at least say ‘thank you’ I will never know that she was grateful and possibly walk away with the wrong thought. Today, we with grateful heart, let us say thank you to our lord for dying and saving me.

  • Father I am grateful for all you have done, thank you Jesus
  • Father I repent from every attitude of an ingrate in Jesus name
  • Father help me to be focus on you only
