His BlessingS Make Us

The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. – Proverbs 10:22

There is nothing like the blessing of the Lord. It doesn’t leave you with bitter aftertaste or regrets. This year is our year of His Favour and Uncommon blessings. The question is how do I access such blessing in my life? There are five means of God blessings, which can trace its root in the scriptures. Below I have highlighted them:

  • The Parental Blessings: How you treat your parent is very significant to your breakthrough in life. Parental blessing can be generational, look at the cases of Abraham blessing Isaac; Isaac blessing Jacob and Esau (Genesis 27:1-36); Jacob blessing his children (Gen. 49:1-15). Then you have the example of Jabez whose was sorrowful because of the pronouncement of the mother on him at birth. (1 Chronicles 4:9-10) Finally the scripture says in Ephesians 6:2, “Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise”
  • The Priestly Blessings: There is a prophet in the life of every believer. The pastor under whose spiritual care you are is God’s prophet in your life. Whatever declaration your pastor makes concerning your life genuinely, either negative or positive, comes to pass. The scriptures says “Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them, The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.” Numbers 6:23-27

“Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine” (1 Timothy 5:17)

  • The Blessings of Association: Joseph was a blessed man. His presence in the house of Potiphar, made Potiphar blessed. In Genesis 39:5 the scriptures says, “From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the LORD blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the LORD was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field”. This can also work otherwise. If you have the wrong person in the boat of your life like Jonah with the sailors, you will be in for torrid time (Jonah 1:5-12)
  • The Diligent Blessings: God does not bless lazy people. He expects His children to be hard working. The scripture tells us “The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute” Proverbs 12:24. When natural talent is transformed into skills then the blessing flows in without measure, “Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before officials of low rank. Proverbs 22:29
  • God: Everybody knows that all blessings come from God. No need for long grammar on this; God gives the blessing. Blessings naturally flow when we Obey His instructions (Deuteronomy 28: 1 -13). God is the source of all blessings. He can reverse any curse. He can make a beggar sit among princes. For example, he took a young boy by the name of David and made him king of a nation (I Samuel 16:1)

Friends, being blessed is not rocket science. By simply following God’s principles we can be blessed beyond our wildest dreams.
