“I will arise and go to my father…” – Luke 15:18
The parable of the prodigal son teaches the principle of the kingdom (Luke 15:11-32). [pullquote]As children of God there is royalty in every one of us, yearning to sit on their throne[/pullquote]. When the throne eludes us, we seek to compromise. The devil knows if he puts up a little resistance, many of us will give up at the first obstacle. Knowing our anxiety and desire to succeed, he sells us the dream of the gold at the end of the rainbow. The truth is no matter how fast or hard we travel on a wrong path, we won’t arrive at the right destination. The elevator to success might be out of order but we can always use stairs; taking one step at a time. Just keep moving.
God is available; a very present help in the time of need (Psalm 46:1). Like the father of the prodigal son he is standing at the door waiting for our return. Though He knows all things, He won’t interfere in our affairs unless we ask Him; rather than cry and complain.
“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” – Hebrews 4:16
The enemy specializes in selling stolen goods to unsuspecting individuals. He knows of our desire to sit on our throne has consumed us; but we cannot outsmart the devil in evil. Let me share a testimony with you.
A man requested to be rushed to the church, after he began complaining of excruciating pains, knowing it was not medical issue. They met with the man of God for prayers. As the man of God, began to pray, he stopped and asked “what did you get yourself involved in?” The man in pains denies having any involvement with anything. The man of God told him to leave. When he got outside the church the pain he felt continued. Unable to bear the pain, he returned to see the man of God again. He confessed his involvement in the occult. He was prayed for and told to renounce his involvement. The man of God made a crucial statement he said,” if you had waited, you had three years to your unlimited breakthrough, which would have made what you have through the occult look like child’s play, now you have to start all over”
Jesus said “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you…” (John 14:2). It is time to return home.
