Title: I am born to win

“For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.” – 1 John 5:4

The medical scientists describe the process of conception as millions of sperm cells competing to fertilise one egg. The first sperm cell to reach the egg will create an outer shell preventing other sperm cells from coming in. He claims his prize and becomes the baby. If this is truth, the sperm cell that produce you and I must be the first out of millions possible candidates, which means we are winners from conception.

Whenever you look at yourself in the mirror, remember to say “I am born to win”. Do not let the devil sell you a message that you are not good enough, you cannot make it or you are not beautiful enough. (Psalm 139:14)

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. – 1 John 4:4

I want you to take a journey down memory lane. There were times in your life when you were faced with situations you thought ‘this is the end’. ‘I am finished’, but here you are. If you look back, these situations are now files in your personal archive. Every challenge has an expiry date.

[pullquote]“Tough Times Never Last, but Tough People Do!” – Robert H. Schuller [/pullquote]Learn to celebrate little victories; they are great boosters of faith. We know without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb. 11:6). Before David confronted Goliath, he recounted the little victories he had with the lion and bear (1 Samuel 17:34-36) He became assured of victory, over the giant that stood on his path.

I encourage Christians to keep a diary of the acts of God in their lives. It will be a reminder of God’s faithfulness, especially when you have to encourage yourself and there is no one around (1 Samuel 30:6). Take the time today to count your blessings one after the other. You will be surprised how quickly your faith will be boosted to take on the next challenge of your life. It is never over until God says it is over.
