Title: Are you protesting?
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” – Philippians 4:6
Prayer without Praise is protest. Praise is an utterance. We praise God for who he is. Praise is more than just words. Our God is great and greatly to be praised. We cannot jump into God’s presence presumptuously without acknowledging Who He is and what He has done. Though He is a loving father, He is a consuming fire (Heb. 12:29)
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. – Hebrews 13:15
Praise is not something we feel once in a while (Isaiah 43:21). You have to praise God in the face of all your challenges like Paul and Silas (Acts 16:25 – 28). Praise helps us gain a new perspective of God’s power. You don’t have to wait until you face a challenge before you practice preventative medicine. By praising God in all situations and at all times, you will never slip into the valleys of fear or discouragement again. The shouting side is the winning side.
[pullquote] Then they believed his promises and sang his praise. – Psalm 106:12 [/pullquote]Praise is an extension our faith and without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb. 1:6). And when a man’s way pleases the Lord, He causes his enemy to be at peace with him (Proverbs 16:7). Prayer signifies spiritual warfare, but praise signifies spiritual victory. Whenever we praise, Satan flees.
“I will extol the Lord at all times, his praise will always be on my lips.” – Psalms 34:1
We must praise Him continuously. David praised seven times a day (Psalm 119:164). Our prayer is incomplete without praise. Praises gives our prayers wings to fly; it keeps us connected to the source of power. Praise Him in advance for His plan to lift your head and His problem solving abilities. He makes a way when there seems to be no way. If you believe he has answered your prayer, then you will thank and praise Him.
