Scripture: Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 2 Timothy 2:3

Humorously I tell people the day we became born again we were enlisted in God’s army. As solider we expected to fight, as ignorance is not a valid excuse. Not being aware of our duty and responsibilities doesn’t negate the fact that we are soldiers of Christ. There are three types of Soldiers

Compromisers (rationalize position rather than take a definite stand)
Quitters (can’t take heat of battle)
The faithful (no assignment is too tough and no battles too fearful)

What is the identity of Good Solider

A good soldier of Christ should always be “In Uniform”. Put on the whole armour of God (Ephesians 6:11)
A good soldier of Christ Endures hardship and does not quit
A good soldier of Christ Seek does not retreat in the face of the enemy, he does not run from a fight. Instead, he stands his ground and fights the battle until the battle is over to please the Commander.
A good soldier of Christ will always obeys his captain’s commands
A good soldier of Christ realizes that the battle does not run according to his time frame.
A good soldier of Christ is in it for the long haul. He does not quit at the first hint of trouble. He is a finisher. God give us Christians with the attitude of finishers.
