Divine partnership
Scripture: Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground, all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. Genesis 2:19
The Bible is filled with God’s partnership with men from Genesis to Revelation. Partnership is the ability to work together towards a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishment towards organized objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results. Our work for God is a great partnership. “We are laborers together with God.” When the Lord Jesus was on earth, He always declared that His work was done in partnership with His Father. “My Father worketh hitherto, and I work” (John 5:17).
If God is your partner make your plans big (A quote from D.L. Moody). He supplies all the resources and capital of the business. He does not send us, like Pharaoh’s taskmasters, to work without materials (Exodus 5:6). He does not limit our capital but says to us, “God is able to make all grace abound to you; so that ye always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound unto every good work.”
As a principle, our partnership must always precede projects. Whenever a project becomes more important than partnership, God is not glorified and people are not edified. His glory He will never share
Friends, What is that project your trying to accomplish? A house, A business. God grows us through partnerships and increases our capacity to achieve more. T.E.A.M stands Together Everyone Achieves More .
How do we become partners with God?
- We must recognise the work is His. He holds the final decision on every matter and He must be consulted before any decision is made.
- We must recognise that we cannot do this by our Strength. Zechariah 4:6 – “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.
- We must work in His way and His plan. Exodus 25:40 – See that you make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. – Proverbs 3:5-6
I end with an illustration I heard a preacher by the name of Reinhard Bonnke used in his sermon. If Jesus is number one (1) and I am a zero (0). When I join with Jesus in divine partnership, we become a ten (10). If another Christian who is zero (0), joins this divine partnership we become a hundred (100). Yet again if another Christian joins, we can become a thousand (1000). This is the power of divine partnership. One with Christ is a majority.
