Scripture:
Diligence is a product of commitment. A diligent person is wholeheartedly committed in whatever they do. He or she is “passionate” about life and zealous for good works. Without diligence success will be mirage. Christ, our example shows diligence in every aspect of his ministry including His time in the prayer room. (Mark 1:35). The basic virtue of diligence involves having a decisive, intentional approach to life. Sadly, this is lacking in some who claim to be Christian. They are those who put off, sidestep, maneuver out of, or procrastinate with respect to that which needs to be done in the kingdom of the Lord. It seems impossible to move some “Christians” into action. The fire and enthusiasm of the early church is missing. Fervor and enthusiasm are the keys to success in the Lord’s work. The scriptures tell us “doing the will of God from your heart.” – Ephesians 6:6
What is your attitude to work?
Instant Gratification, hard work pays off over time, but laziness pays off now. If your thoughts are “I want it now, I want it cheap, and I want it free” then you are not paying the price of diligence. The bible says, “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” (Proverbs 22:29)
