Scripture: “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…” – Proverbs 23:7
Our thought life is the beginning of victory or defeat. Victories are won and lost in the mind. The mind is like driving a car; you have a steering wheel that controls the direction of the car. If you turn it to the right it will go right and if you turn it left it goes left. The same principle applies to our Christian life. Our defeat or victory begins with what we think, and if we guard our thoughts we shall not have much trouble anywhere else along the line. Life has to have a definite aim about it. Our actions are always in harmony with the thoughts. Whatever we are thinking will dominate us so that we will find ourselves pursuing our thoughts. If you can just think, if you can give your mind to God in such a way that He can use it, it will be amazing what He will do with you!
[pullquote]The mind of man is the battleground on which every moral and spiritual battle is fought. – J. Oswald Sanders [/pullquote] There are various reasons why people are often distracted:
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: – Philippians 2:5
Is your heart right before God? Our transformed life comes from our renewed mind. It’s very important that we read, meditate, memorize the words of God in our hearts for it to be part of our everyday life. We live the Word of God daily in our lives. Let God’s words mold and renew our whole way of thinking and our life will be transformed obeying and following a renewed mind. That’s why an unbelievers can’t live transformed lives, yes they will boast of it, but it’s not real, it’s fake, it’s hypocrisy. The bibles says in Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Your mind is renewed by God’s Word; it is not renewed by watching television Soap or playing video games.
“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” – 2 Corinthians 10:5
Wherever your mind is your body will soon be there. The scriptures tells us “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”- Philippians 4:8
