Scripture: have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all. – Ecclesiastes 9:11
Most of us at one time or another has felt like quitting. There are three important things you should remember
God has us just where he wants us to be.
He knows where we are He has not forgotten about us. The place of frustration is a place of transformation. It is in this place, where we must stop and wait on him. It is here where we can find His direction and guidance. It’s in these places of “wait” where God’s work really gets started. This muddy ground is his best working ground. It is here, where he molds us – growing us in patience, endurance and perseverance. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. (Romans 5:3-4)
He is preparing, reforming and transforming us to do his work. Fear not, it’s here we can choose to trust, grow and sow. As we sow faith, we let go of fear. As we let go of fear, true purpose surfaces. We discover our calling.
All this has to do with obedience and determination. If you get determined to move forward and heed to the voice of the Lord then nothing will stop you but if you chose to drift back into the place of comfort it’s like giving up or backing up. God has given you all that you need. Let’s do it. Let’s move forward and refuse to give up or backup no matter the price.
God put a calling in our hearts. Listen and follow.
God made us with a purpose and for a purpose. Perhaps we are still in the training stages. An Olympian cannot just walk out on the track and get the gold. Likewise, there are hard training days that accompany our work for the Lord. We have to put the hard work in. Work that is endless, tiring and ongoing.God is sovereign; he decides the proper time to exalt us. We can wait on him. Even if that time of exaltation is at heavens door, we can still trust in his plan. Let’s not miss the moment. Because the most important calling for our lives is not the one we dream of – but the one that he has already placed in front of us – for this exact moment. Let’s not miss it.
What does it take to move forward?
#1 It takes knowing and understanding that we are heading to something better.
A. Where we are now is only temporary. This is not our final destination.
B.Move out of your place of comfort. They were comfortable in Egypt, they were used to living as slaves, and they were used to settling for the left over. They said; “It would have been better for us to be slaves in Egypt than to die in the dessert.”.
#2. Moving forward involves a change of attitude.
A. The Israelis had developed a slave mentality. They said’ “were there no grave sin Egypt that you brought us to this dessert to die?” “Didn’t’ we tell you in Egypt to leave us alone and let us serve the Egyptians?”
B. People of God sometimes get accustomed to their worldly surroundings.
-We sometimes become accustomed to not receiving the promises of God.We get used to the hand downs even if it’s not the best that the Lord has for us.
#3. Moving forward involves Faith in God and putting to use what He has placed in your hand.
What He given you is enough to move you and lead others to their destiny?
Perhaps a talent; singing, playing an instrument, fixing something or trade like carpentry or repairing cars or landscaping. It doesn’t matter what it is but use it for the Glory of the Lord.
Perhaps a Spiritual gift such as; teaching or preaching or interceding for others or encouraging others. What ever it is, put it to use in the Kingdom of God. It will not only push you forward but others also.
#4. Moving forward also depends on God’s favor not man’s favor.
God’s favor will open doors.Job said; “Thou has granted me life and favor, and thy visitation has preserved my spirit”.(Job 10:12).Psalm 5:12; “For thou oh Lord will bless the righteous and with favor you surround him as with a shield”.
#5. Moving forward involves the power of God.
“It’s not by power or by might but by My Spirit” says the Lord. The Lord has given us power by His Spirit to move forward and conquer.
A. Acts 1:8 “And you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you will be my witnesses …..
B. also the power to serve. Notice that it says; “You will be my witnesses
– *1 Corinthians 1:27 And God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. And God has chosen the weak things of this world to confound the things that are mighty”.
C. Power to speak with boldness.
