Title: That I may Know Him

Scripture: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; – Philippians 3:10

One of the greatest goals of our lives should be knowing Him more.I believe that throughout scripture we see a progressive revelation of Jesus. He is shown from the books of Genesis to Revelation. Throughout the Scriptures, the great men and women of God all desired to know Him more, Moses says to God: “I pray You show me Your glory” (Exodus 33:18). David prays: “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for You, O God” (Psalm 42:1). And Paul says that his heart longs to “know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings” (Philippians 3:10).

Relationship requires commitment of time and energy. Everybody is willing to experience the benefits of knowing Christ. But very few are willing pay the price of that intimacy. The reality is that living for Jesus isn’t easy. The closer you get to Christ, the more you become a threat to Satan. As you go down the road of knowing Christ, you will run into challenges that are tough, awkward, and painful. At these times, the decision you face is crucial: Do you really want to know Him? At the place of suffering there is also always the simultaneous call to intimacy. In trials we often ask, “Why is this happening to me?” Very often, the reason behind our trials is that God wants to take us to the next level of intimacy with Him as we trust Him and grow in Him. Think about a shirt being ironed; a hot, heavy iron presses down on that shirt, moving over every inch with its pressure. But this process is required to get out all the wrinkles.

I can assure you of the following

  • Knowing Jesus is the source of wisdom and strength to endure hard times.
  • Knowing Jesus is the power to resist Satan when he attacks.
  • Knowing Jesus enables to sing in the midst of trials and discouraging times.
  • Knowing Jesus enables you to keep hot when others are cold.

“Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you.”- James 4:8

The Father is calling you unto himself, but never lose sight that such fellowship will change you and the world around you.It requires that we get close to Him.As we spend time with Him, His Love and Grace transform us from the inside out.Do you have the right Priorities all the time? What is stopping you from knowing Jesus in a deeper way?
God Bless you
