Title: The Anointing and Power

Scripture: How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.  – Acts 10:38

Have you ever felt you are moving toward your destiny as fast as you could? Power is the ability to do work. Fulfilment of destiny requires work and work can only be done when power is avaliable. Power comes from the anointing, the scripture tells us‘But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth’(Acts 1:8). Without the anointing in our lives we will struggle to accomplish the simplest of task. Life will be a burden without the anointing

Say to God,“How awesome are Your works! Through the greatness of Your power
Your enemies shall submit themselves to You. – Psalms 66:3

Power is an essential commodity for all children of God, the bible says, If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small (Proverb  24:10).The question is how do I increase my power

We increase the anointing by spending time in His presence. We must allow His Presence to saturate our lives. This begins with genuine Thirst and Hunger for it for Him. The bible tells us, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, Matthews 5:6

  • Live Holy: In a great house there are many vessel. The scfipture tells us, But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. – 2 Timothy 2:20-22. Living Holy makes us a vessel qualified for His power. Holiness is a requirement and not optional.
  • Connection with the person who carries the anointing. This is not a casual connection, but one of consistent and persistent focus on the person who carries the anointing. Elijah’s reply was, ‘“… if you see me … it will be yours …”’ The transference of the anointing was dependent on the principal of fixed focus.

God’s promised anointing to empower us is only fulfilled to its full extent when we learn to put our focus fully on the Holy Spirit.
In the upper room, the promise of the anointing rested again on the principle of focus. Jesus instructed the disciples to have a prayer meeting with the one aim of receiving the Holy Spirit and the power He brings.
The same principle still holds true for us. It is by cultivating and growing a consistent focus on our connection with the Holy Spirit, who carries the anointing, that we step into a truly powerful life. The more exposure the greater the saturation. We are called to live the connected life!
